If they wanted to make it really objective, they should have a doctor of genetic research there. Just get a blood sample from each contestant and examine their DNA to determine who is really the best chunk of reasonably-sentient meat in the running.

someone asked her a question and she answered honestly. they got all pissy over her answer, when they shouldn't have asked an opinion question to which there was an answer they didn't like.

she said what she personally believed. she didn't say anything about public policy, or that she wouldn't respect a marriage in the utmost legal sense, or those who believe differently than she.
