$35/phone for just activation is so stupid. I tried to get them to take it off but no luck. Does anybody know a way to get T-mobile to take it off?

I have 4 phones and it's killing me with the activation fee and it doesn't even do anything worth $35.

Edit: Ok now prof?

Um, every provider has one. So they should give you the SIM card and assign you a number and all that for free? (I'm not saying $35 isn't excessive, but it's not like activation does *nothing*)

Activation charges are complete BS. Just keep talking to higher up people till you find someone who can actually do something.

YES! I already pay them $70/mon. Why not give me a $0.01 Sim for free?

And to make the phone number active... like they have to go out and run the line?

I don't see you b1tching about paying $20 for a steak at a restaurant when it only costs $2 for the meat itself. What's your point? Oh and I pay $60 a month for 3 lines, I've dealt with the activation fee 3 times. Talk to someone higher up or just stfu already.

Couple of observations for you:

1) Why on earth do you need 4 phone lines?
2) It's $35. Get over it. It's a one-time fee and it's not like the activation fee is $300 or something. Just cook dinner for a week and you'll save the $35.

1) Let me intro. you to family plan.
2) $35 x 4 = $140 = a lot.

Yea activation fee is per line, which I think is complete BS.
I remember back in the day, when there weren't any activation fees to begin with.

They charge the activation fee because they can.
I couldn't get anyone to waive it. I suppose if you are still during the grace period (I think it's 14-days) when you can cancel without penalty that you could threaten to drop the plan.
