Just wondering if they work or not, and if they are as "cancerous" as everyone says the tanning saloons are

They work if your goal is to look like a carrot, but otherwise, no. There are some new ones that are supposed to be better, but seriously, why bother? Tan is just a fad anyway. In some cultures past and present being pale is considered more beautiful.

Yeah, I'm also interested because even though I spend like half my time in the sun, I only get a little darker. Barely noticable tan. Compared to my sister who spends less time outside and she gets tan in a freakin day. It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't look like casper the friendly ghost..

From the ones i have used, they DO work, it's just that they're temporary. Or it really depends on the part on which you apply. If say, you tan your chest, it would fate relatively fast. But if you applied it onto your ankles, the tan seems to last indefinately. But either way, they work. Btw, i've tried:

The bronze bottle- it's a type of foamy stuff

I just had a battle with the stuff. I've used several different kinds. They all leave me looking streaky and orange even when I know I applied it evenly. The most recent stuff I bought comes out brown so you can see where you're putting it. I'm still having to scrub with a body sponge to try and get it off. :| It also rubs off on clothing and stuff. :(

Get yerself a bottle o' iodine and a bottle a' lotion, mix'em all up good an' slather it allllllll over yer bod. Iodine is a fantastic dye.

As far as I know they are safe. Laying in the sun is dangerous, as is tanning beds. I had a few spots of cancer cut out of my face last year because I was a sun worshiper all my life. It was cut out when I was 34, not very old to have someone say "you have cancer"

Use sunscreen when you are outside, I do.
