Do Router's Just Quit Working?

I just had a SOHOWARE one die. I have to RMA it off still but it just started taking longer and longer every day to start up. Usually was ready to go in under 30 seconds and then it would take 10 minutes+/-. Then one by one each port started dying till there was only one with a switch hooked up to it and then it all died

I think I've had mine for about a year now and it's been alright, but I never shut it off (linksys)

I've had to reboot mine every once in a while (months inbetween). No rhyme or reason. Just locks up and can't get anywhere (beyond my local machine). Power the SMC barricade down, wait 10 seconds, power it up. Fixed!

I have more problems with my modem than with my router
