I was wondering how long it would take for someone to say that...

I am not an Athesist because I admit to the possibility to that God could exist. Athesit deny that. I was saying that I believe, not know, that god doesn't exist.

That is why I call myself an Agnostic. I still admit that there could be a god, but choose to live as if there wasn't.

I admit - I really am disgusted by religious people. I usually don't mind them till they mention it. Actually, let me correct myself - I really, REALLY dislike christians. Muslims bother me because their religion is so violent, but they aren't as popular here in the states. But, I personally feel that if we had fewer christians, the world would be a lot better and people would be forced to think rather then follow such a primitive religion.

I am an agnostic who feels that you cant make a choice as important as religion without some serious time along with unbiased counsel. I do not currently hav the time nor do I trust myself to make the kind of decesion needed so I am deffering choice until I am sure that I will be sensible enough to make a decision.

Having said that, I think atheism is a religion at least with the current popular definition of atheism. An atheist would worship rational thought, science, the fact that there is no god and many other things and will move to &quot;convert&quot; you to his faith as hard as a christian can. A lot of atheists will scorn christian fundametalists without realising that they themselves are fundametelists.

I try to keep a clear mind about all discussions(except personal pet peeves like CS) and have atlered my mindset on several things several times due to various relevant points raised in these forums. I am glad that such meeting places exist(even if I have to wade through 100 posts of garbage to find that one gem) and I feel that it is quite easy to act like a idiot as humans are, in general, very much opposed to change and especially changes in mindset about important issues.

i do not believe in any religion, and no one will ever convert me. and i will not go out of my way to make ppl agree with me. if ppl wont stop talking about there religion and how great it is, i just ignore them. i also do not like having stupid ppl come to my door trying to make me join stuf like this. i just give them an evil stare and shut the door. thats what they deserve.

No man bothers me, but there are many with whom I disagree.

Religious organizations like NOW, PETA, ACLU, NAALCP, ELA, DNC and others tend to be very intrusive to the everyday lives of people.

What ever happened to the &quot;separation of church and state&quot;?

Religious leaders like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton tend to be very hypocritical.

If I get into a discussion with someone religious if they take the time to consider what I am saying also then no they don't bother me. But if I get preached to and I am expected to listen then I think they should give me the same courtesy even If what I have to say doesnt agree with them...

well hpkeeper... if you go by the bible, true religion is helping widows and orphans. If everyone did that, then we would all be better off. I cant stand preachy in your face people... no matter what they preach. It can be chistianity, animal rights, enviromental protection, gun control, NRA, PETA, Bob jones, I dont care.. they all get on my nerves. STAY OUT OF MY LIFE! I have a B.A. in theology and I minored in world religions so I feel I have grasp on most of the concepts. yes I consider my self a christian, but that was my choice. If someone want to be one, that is thier choice. If someone whats to be a part of an organization of any kind, thats thier choice. But when someone presures them to choose by manipulation, fear, boredom, etc... thats wrong. I believe that choices I make are my choices. If they dont endanger another human life then my choices should not be regulated by law or by anyone else. there is a big difference between providing information about something, and pushing something down your throat or brain washing someone into agreement. If a religeous group want to advertise saying they are meeting at such and such place, I see no probelm with that. But if there are commercials on TV always telling me I must do this or this is wrong etc.. thats manipulation and thats something that I hate. Unfortunatly television caters to this.. thats why I watch very little TV.

The West Coast Baptists hang out in front of my school (Vista High), and hand out these pamphlets that are sometimes funny but mostly dumb. There are extreme moral and racial issues in these pamphlets, (the Baptists run the site www.godhatesfags.com), and we hate these people. I have this friend with a green mohawk that goes to the sermons tho. Got to go to class... finish later.

Some church in kansas seems to run that abysmal site, you're in Cali right? The Westboro church describes themselves as a primitive baptist church, very primitive indeed. I don't know if they have membership in any national organization though.

You know what I can't stand is professional athletes that credit God and Jesus for EVERYTHING when a reporter asks them a question:

I cannot tell most of you how much i disagree. Earlier I stated what i believe to be assailed with comments about &quot;i hope you were being sarcastic&quot;, then we have some people putting up web sites about burning christians, by the way, i think the mods should cut that out. The biggest problem here is the hypocracy in the people who don't appreciate Christianity- they will claim tolerance, as long as it moves what they believe along, yet refuse to be tolerant of Christianity. I think that they feel threatened by it personally, but other than that they are the ones who are truly being intolerant, i won't tell anyone that God hates them, i dont see any biblical stand on that, i will say that God hates people's sin, mine just as much as yours, i am seeing a growing hatred towards Christians in the name of tolerance when those leading it are the most intolerant, i will not say that there are no hypocrits in the Christian Church, however just because someone is in a garage does not make them a car ... if you don't understand this i will respond

Actually Donald, you don't appear very tolerant yourself. People gave rational reasons that they don't believe in God, or why they don't agree with Christianity and you became very emotional and irrational about it.

When someone complains about the religious right they are usually complaining about them as a political group.

These guys get free government handouts, lots of old people sending them their life savings so that Jimmy Swaggart can buy a bigger mansion and then they have the nerve to try to politicize their religious beliefs in a country where we have CLEAR seperation of church and state guarenteed in our constitution.

For much of human history goverments were dominated by religious groups. At one point the Catholic Church was as powerful as the Roman Empire.

Our founding fathers were smart enough to make sure that no religious group gets that kind of political power in our country and yet we see people continually trying to undermine it.

i actualy love it when people want to come up to me and talk about their religion...even better when they try to convert me. they are fun to argue with. they get so passionate, lots of flashing buttons that say &quot;push here to make me mad&quot;. it's a blast!

also...anytime the jw or lds come to your door...strip down b4 you open it! their eyes get SO wide. hmm....wonder why i haven't seen any of those types for a few years?

I have to agree that anyone who *insists* on trying to shove their viewpoint/religion/whatever down my throat is extremely anoying and I don't want to be around them. There are some misguided people in ALL groups who do things wrong or to an extreme--those are the people who I don't want to be bothered with--doesn't matter what the topic. Unfortunately people judge groups by the actions of a few who stand out--extreme people make their whole group look bad.
