At least some of them, yes. I'm sure it's not the same in every cellblock of every prison in the world.

I think the burning question on everyone's mind is: "Do they get access to P2P services?"

:D

So can we expect to see you posting threads like "YABT (Yet Another Bubba Thread)" or "I just got shanked and am bleeding to death. Should I go to the infirmary?"

LOL @ Encryptic!

And apparently, here in MA, they don't place firewalls between the different divisions of the state government's network, so someone could access the Police department's records from a maximum security prison.

Minnesota used to have a prison work program that allowed inmates to run a business using computers with Internet access. Eventually, the prison officials realized they had used the computers to compile a list of 3,000 children from small Minnesota towns and cut it off.

Seriously, though, I know someone who works for a network security firm that did this as a demonstration.

Darn prisoners, some of them live better than me sometimes. Why I remember when I was so broke that to save on some money I only turned on the heat in my bedroom during the winter time. I took some old clothes and put it under the door so that heat wouldn't escape to the rest of the house. It was so cold in the rest of the house that water would freeze if I left it out. Heck, I just unplugged the fridge and opened the door, it was so cold. Don't even get me started on the floor I had to sleep on and what I had to use as a blanket. :|
