Do police have to identify their wireless router?

There was one named PedoNet the other day. No password required. I should have called the police

Apparently Dave doesn't know you can setup the SSID to be whatever you want as long as it is within the character count limit. I think it's 32.

If you think they'd broadcast their SSID you're nuts. (Yes, you can change that option too)

BTW, in school mine said FBISURVEILLANCEVAN

No, no, I think the OP might be onto something here. Back in '03 or so I ran into one that was "Secret Bush Wiretap". Obviously they wouldn't have called it that (and potentially given away the secret) unless it was legally mandatory.

Did you really think they'd let that whole 'taking down an entire police department' just slide?

Grab your ankles bub, you're fucked.

With the proliferation of devices that use WIFI, and given the nature of my neighborhood, I keep considering that I should change my SSID to something rather more... entertaining. I mean, if Dave fell for this, then the people in my neighborhood CERTAINLY would fall for it.

This thread is now about SSIDs that would freak neighbors out.
