Do people take talk radio seriously?

I listen mostly to conservative talk radio and sometimes switch to liberal stations. They give me insights into the thinking of the public. But I always come away with the impression that these shows are nothing more than propaganda used to serve the stations audience points of views and to make them feel good. Its is entertaining though.

Well duh...If they truly had an opposing point of view, then the audience might not listen again
