I take responsibility seriously. My life is just that.....my life. Seems to be a balancing act between my resposibility to other people that depend on me, and what I would like to do.
Soo far, I've done it well, and am having a great time.

I think people are misconstruing serious with never having fun.

I've been accused of that by friends in the past because I do mundane things like pay my bills on time and go to work regularly.

While I do like to have fun I don't put that above whatever responsibilities I have.

BORING

Says the man who's "fun" is going to consist of running, push ups, and getting screamed at by large scary men 7 days a week.😛

QFT! Those "gentlemen" (or ladies) will certainly instill a whole new level of "taking life seriously" for Dain... Been there, done that, survived the experience...😉

the way a i see it:
it is very very important to not take life too seriously. you need to take it seriously enough to get by the way you want to live and if the way you want to live is causing too much seriousness you need to change something. life is way too short to be worrying about stupid crap all the time. The goal of life is to live it to its fullest.

..too many self loathing "old money" white people sitting around smoking dope and coming up with alarmist and sensational hallucinations about global warming then using pick and choose voodoo science to support it. All the while oblivious to the real threats to humanity i.e. terrorism under the guise of belief systems.

If there is any problem with people, it is that they don't take life seriously enough.

QFT. People need to buckle down and do something with themselves. Stop meandering about and find something you love and just DO it. Too many worthless people out there.

Why? If you're paying your own way and enjoy your life, why can't you meander about?

Well I dont think life is all about yourself. If you dont contribute to society you're useless to the world. You might as well not exist. I've always felt compelled to do my part in making things better.

To hell with society, my life is all about me. I go to work to get money to serve me, not to contribute something to society. If I did not get paid, I would never do it.

..like it or not you pay taxes so you contribute.

I think that you are asking the wrong question.

People take insignificant parts of life and make that into something too serious while forgetting the larger picture, and not being serious enough about the more important things.

We should absolutely take life more serious for the gift that it is, realizing our time is limited and also recognize the power and control we exercise over our own fate and the ways in which we can help one another.

At the same time we should take life less serious in the day-to-day in the "stressful" serious sense where people take things that are insignificant and make a huge deal out of them to the point they can no longer enjoy or have quality of life because of something so trivial being at the forefront of the mind.

Exactly the point I was trying to make

The answer is Yes. But people also don't take life serious enough. People also drive cars and people don't drive cars. You could put "Is the pope Catholic" and that would be just about as good of a poll as this one is right now.
