DRM is not your friend. F*CK Windows Media Player.

hey assgoblin, you dont have to have DRM on, just turn uncheck the tickbox and its gone. stupid opensource FUD monkey.

i use WMP9 and i like it for many reasons including the easy ripping ability, album art, and the mini toolbar player.

You're SURE that's all there is to it? I still use WMP 6.4 but other than that I stay away. LAME rips crush anything else.

I'm positive. and WM9 lossless owns all. Its a one step rip that rips and encodes everything with album art.

iTunes for mp3s
Winamp for random sound files
Zoom Player for videos, much more adjustable than WMP.

Winamp for audio
WinDVD for avi and dvd's

media player loads hella faster than either loading, but it's useless beyond rudimentary options

I use it every once in a while. When I installed Winamp 5, I think I associated it with all my video files.

Never use it. I installed it only for the codecs. Zoom Player + Winamp5 is all I use now.

I like how it has easy access to playlists and the various different ways you can search for songs (by artist, playlists, albums, all songs, etc). The only thing I don't like is that it's also a video player because when I'm listening to music then watch a video, it stops the music and I have to go back and find it once the video is over.

I use WMP 9...

I miss Winamp's visualizations, but last I saw they didn't support surround sound/multispeaker output.
