That server is really tough for low-level players. One of the problems is that a whole bunch of people have characters that they've been playing for 2 or 3 years and many are at level 250+, so it's hard to satisfy everyone as far as difficulty is concerned. It's a great community and some of the serious players do voice chat on Ventrillo.

Adrenaline Masters can become the most powerful characters later on, but there are just so many things to put your stat points into at the lower levels. Mine's at Level 110 now. I'm really not sure how to go about building one properly. Damage Bonus is always good; I maximized that early on. It seems like my Adren Master didn't really come into his own until around Level 85 when I had maxxed out Damage Bonus, about 275 Adren, all of the artifacts and magic weapons making upgrades, and the adrenaline upgrades.

My strategy is to obtain Energy Flak and Energy Mines, preferably with a couple other energy weapons, take them up to +4, and then run around with the Globe of Invulnerability. Now that I can do that, I've found that I need a higher Ammo Bonus so that I have enough ammo to keep shooting Flak.

Hah, the RPG-mod stuff.

Never got into that...granted probably mainly due to RPGs not being my thing.

I still play UT2k4 btw [UTComp servers].
Mainly just get my ass kicked in 1v1s, or do TDM when enough people jump into a server :)

I know there are people here who still play; xfire me up if you wanna play: n7dgs

I'd love if Epic did an Unreal Tournament Live game. Play in your browser.....

UT was always better than Q3. IMO.

UT4 is dwindling but if anyone has interest the community made a new master server and people are still playing. IMO Elimination is the best mode

So a year later, and it seems that Epic have given their blessing to a bunch of folk to update the game.

With Epic's blessing and with the help of some new team members, we are bringing Unreal Tournament 2004 (UT2004) back.

This means that we are going to publish an installer that downloads the original disc image for UT2004, installs the game, and applies patches to it. We are also going to start publishing patches that modernize the game, make it compatible with Windows Vista or later, Linux x86-64 and aarch64 (Raspberry Pi and similar), and Mac OS 10.9 or later, fix bugs, and implement quality-of-life changes.

Yes, you read that right. UT2004 will soon be available to download once again. Free of charge.

Q: What is the timeline?
A: We are currently inviting server admins and modders to join our internal tester group. We're aiming to release a public test version within the next two months.

Seems this summer (in Australia) will be scorching!!

if the movement is still tied to double-tap sidestep buttons, i will pass. i would rather play with the "wiggle mouse to move faster" mechanic that Quake has, instead.
