Do people listen to 70's rock anymore..like zepplin and page?

You mean they made music after 1974?

My wife and I don't listen to anything else. Mostly Led Zep, Moody Blues, Hendrix, Jethro Tull and of course The Beatles. At least my son has grown up with decent taste in music. He can listen to any new stuff (Limp Bizkit, Rage and all the others) and also older music.

it is the only kind of music that i cant listen to.
i hate it. and hate is a strong word.

*kat.<-- doesnt like it cuz its dumb.

"Everyone knows rock attained perfection in 1974. It's a scientific fact."
--Homer Simpson

If cartoon characters don't know what they're talking about, who does? 😉

Some people do. It isn't exactly at the top of the charts...but if thats what you used to listen to, you generally still do...geez I hope I'm not still listening to the same music 20 years from now...I can't even stand music from more than 6 months ago.

Pink Floyd, The Doors, Rolling Stones, Jethro Tull, CCR, the list goes on...

Even though most of this was recorded before I was born, many of my favorite groups were in their prime in the 70s. Plus, classic rock stations are the only radio stations worth listening to here, except for on Saturdays 8pm-4am, because that's the time for my school's station's electronic music shows. 🙂

I do, not exclusively 70's though. I listen to a commercial free channel on my Bell ExpressVu satelite #901--Gold Rock. It has a great selection of music from the 60's-90's.

Deeko: Ahem, I hate to beat a beaten to death horse, but the reason you can't stand music that's 6 months old is because, you listen to weak music.

Nope.

Yes. I am 18, but my favorite music is from the late 60's, 70's, and a select FEW songs from the 80's. I enjoy bands such as (off the top of my head)

Rolling Stones
Beatles
Pink Floyd
Jackson Browne
Queen
Led Zeplin
and many more

I can't stand most of the music that has come out from 1900-current.

This is YADVWT ...
Yet another Deeko vs. World thread. 😉😛

BTW: I listen to a lot of Pink Floyd and Van Halen(hey they started in the late 70s), and some Led Zep.

I do, but only because I HAVE to. About 5 years ago I really got into Zeppelin and Floyd and such, but now I can hardly stand them. Why? Because I have to listen to same "rock" station everyday at work that seems to have a playlist of about 250 songs from 69-80 with music from about a dozen different bands. After hearing "Stairway to Heaven" once, twice sometimes three times in a 9 hour period EVERYDAY for 2 1/2 years I can say that's one song on my list to never hear again if possible.

Pretty sad since at one time I had nearly every "official" album (a several boots) that Floyd, Zeppelin, Hendrix, The Doors, and several other bands from that period released. All gone because of that darn radio station. There IS a such thing as too much of a good thing. 🙁

Take a dictionary and look-up for definition of "rock music". If it doesn't mention Led Zeppelin, burn it and buy yourself a new dictionary. 🙂

Cheers,
SB

dang people, isn't music art ? sheesh. do paintings more than six months old turn obsolete ?
do books written thirty years ago not deserve any respect ? pop music is degraded enough without
some of its putative fans dissing the craft. people should enjoy the quality and artistry of the sound, which is timeless, and not just fancy the newest flavors - that judging from recent samplings are going to have an extremely short shelf life. he he

I always pop in a Zeppelin CD when I "free my mind" with green substance, if you know what I mean.

nothin's better than sh!t-faced grinning, high-flyin' PARALYSIS that listening to "Dazed and Confused" or "No Quarter" will do to ya.. :Q

No wonder they don't want to listen to anything over 6 months old! They Listen To Crap! They think "DJs" can be considered music artists! Sampling is perfectly acceptable! Don't look for any future Hendrix or Claptons to come out of that crowd!
