Do people buy DVDs and never open them?

I see quite a few DVDs in FS/FT that are sealed.

I think some of them are coming from Columbia House that offers them for around $9 shipped/each and some figured that they'd make a quick buck. However, I don't know who is selling DVD's there, so I'm not pointing fingers

I've sold a couple sealed DVD's that I received from Columbia House when I forgot to tell them I didn't want the damned thing (plus one or two that I DID tell them I didn't want the damn thing).

I probably have 5-10 DVDs in my entertainment center that have not been opened. I am bad about buying a movie on sale and never getting around to watching it.

I'd say 25% of my DVDs are unopened. I bought them all in anticipation of viewing them while my wife was pregnant but we ended up not watching alot of them because she didn't want to see anything violent.

Most of them are older movies I got on sale like Wargames, Excalibur, Red Dawn, etc. But I've got quite a few new ones she didn't want to see like the Patriot, Braveheart, Last of the Mohicans, Spartacus, etc.

I don't know if I'll ever catch up to watching them.

Edit: I must have like 80 DVDs with about 20 unwatched and unopened.
