Do other animals cough?

Thinking back, I have never heard any of my pets (cats, dogs). I have never heard monkeys cough on nature shows. I've heard them sneeze, gag, dry heave, etc..., but never actually cough.

Do other mammals cough? It seems so prevalent in humans, so you would think monkeys especially would be prone to coughing.

Dogs can cough. I bet there is video somewhere in the internet of a dog with kennel cough (bordetella).

My mom used to have a parakeet that coughed, but it was actually just imitating her after she went through a couple weeks of bronchitis.

My dog coughs. Not to long ago she sent a nice big - back of the throat one right into my wife's face from about 6 inches away. I thought it was hilarious!

my dog just got her first respiratory infection last week which required a trip to the vet b/c i never knew dogs got colds. so i can definitely say, yes, dogs do cough and sneeze a lot when they have a cold. And... they can be put on antibiotics if the vet thinks it's bacterial or going to head that way.

Horses cough.

True, and proven when Costello (Abbott's partner) tried to blow a pill thru a tube into a horses throat, when the horse coughed and caused Costello to swallow it.

my dog coughs, he hiccups, he sneezes, sometimes reverse sneezes (which is odd) and every once in a while i hear him fart.

My dog was just diagnosed with Mitral Valve Disease, and she does infact cough not gag.

Now when her tracia collapses its sounds more like a wheeze/choking sound then a gag.
