Do NOT sell items on the Amazon Marketplace *Update 11/23*

That's odd. If there rates are so high then how in the hell have I been getting books for pennies + shipping from numerous sellers. On Ebay you'd never see a deal like that on books. Also, these are usually for the books that retail for $9+. Not your mass market paperback.

I learned my lesson there. I sold an $80 textbook and the girl claimed she never received it, I know she was lying, just by the tone and content of her email correspondence with me, she acted guilty as fvck. The packaging was rock sold, very very unlikely it would have got lost or the address label come off. I ended up giving her a refund and ate the loss.

If I ever sell sh1t on there again I'll be sure to get proof of delivery instead of assuming people are honest.:|

I've puchased CD's and books from the market place and have never had any issues. I got the wrong CD once, they sent me a return shipping label and credited me my payment when they didn't have the correct item in stock.

Update 11/16
I received a response back from Amazon stating that I did not respond to the claim within 5 business days so I automatically lost the case. This is obviously wrong because I responded the exact same day they notified me of the claim, and my response was posted in my seller account claims area. They also said that since I lost, the buyer has every right to keep my book (WTF?) and that I am responsible for the costs since it is up to their sole discretion.

ask some ATOT members to help out?

you can probably find out what school she goes to by the area she lives, then do some searches in schools directory to find her.

threaten to spam her school email address.

Update 11/23/05 - Victory

Here is the latest email I received:

"We appreciate your response to our request for more information. I have reviewed this claim and found that you responded with all the information we requested in a timely manner. I have changed the claim so you are not held responsible, so please consider this claim closed in your favor. I apologize for the error and any inconvenience you may have experienced with this transaction.

Thank you for participating in Amazon.com."

Looks like I win..after a PITA.

I filed a claim yesterday on the VHS tape I ordered (but never got), after trying twice to email the seller. No response from them, even though they changed the delivery estimate twice to a later date. Almost immediately after I filed the claim I got this from the seller:

Hi, I was just informed that there was a problem locating this item. I wanted to let you know that it will be shipped out today. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding in this matter. Please let me know when you receive it. Have a nice day.

So not only did they NOT ship the item out in the day or two that they were supposed to, but they charged me, entered it into the system as shipped, then never bothered with it. Now that I've filed a claim they suddenly feel like sending it. I'm simply going to wait on Amazon to deal with it, I just moved to a new place and changed my address info in Amazon's system, guarantee this place is still going to ship it to my old address. It's only like $10, but it still annoys me that this seller is lazy as hell.
