I'll ask this again with Amazon - it's not a free return unless you choose something that basically says it was their mistake (wrong description, wrong item delivered, etc). Is that what you guys do every time?

I only had 1 return with them ($120) and it was completely my fault. I checked the "don't want item" block, printed out the return tag and took it to the local UPS dropoff. I was refunded within 20 minutes OF THE DROPOFF.
It couldn't be quicker or more convenient for me.

That sucks, never had a problem with them. Excellent place to buy tax free when I lived in Cali. And that Bing 15%, maybe even 18% cb years ago was f'in sweet.

Ordered 4 of the Monoprice dual 6.5" tower speakers from them last month. Never even charged me for them, so guess I don't have to worry about not being able to return them.

Earlier this year, the brothers who founded TigerDirect pleaded guilty to bribery charges. The Securities and Exchange Commission accused them of accepting bribes from vendors for ensuring that companies who paid the brothers got TigerDirect’s business. They’re currently serving sentences in federal prison, and hadn’t worked for the company since 2011.

No wonder we felt like we were doing business with crooks. LOL.

Had a local TigerDirect (1.5 miles) for the last 11 years before they closed last May. Rarely bought stuff that had rebates with them. Prices were okay for things I needed immediately. Place was always busy. Black Fridays were crazy. Now my nearest B&M for computer related things would be Micro Center and Frys' 25 miles up north. Newegg and Amazon obviously for on-line/hot deals.

Posing as a customer, we spoke with an online chat representative and noted that several items are now out of stock. We asked if there would be more inventory in the future or if TigerDirect was going out of business.

The first rep we spoke with said TigerDirect was not going out of business, that it's simply getting rid of old inventory and will replenish its stock. A second rep wasn't so sure.

"Unfortunately, we do not have further information on that matter yet. We are now liquidating our stocks for we are now in transition since TigerDirect has been sold to PCM," a second rep told us.

So pretty much nobody knows what's going on right now. I am sure those who still have jobs are polishing their resumes. Or at least they should be.

Thanks for the heads up OP! I have never bought anything from them online, but did make a couple purchases from their store in Jefferson, GA, and they were both good experiences.

I just found that maximumpc story a few minutes ago after seeing someone mentioned that they'd stopped accepting returns and declared that all sales are final. I wonder how long PC Mall will be able to make good use of their infrastructure not to mention that the article doesn't really specify which parts were obtained by them. I feel for the people who've lost their jobs because of the greed a few people. I still think about the corruption charges as one of my business classes discussed it as it was happening. Ultimately I would love to see Micro Center continue to expand around the country in sustainable markets so we can have a B&M with good prices (and management) to see products in person and purchase from locally.

When TD closed their two local stores last March we were left with a few mom and pop computer stores with ancient stock. BB has a few items that I buy from them like peripherals, otherwise no dedicated stores exist in the area. I've been relegated to amazon and NE since then.
