First off, DO NOT buy from these people.
Let me explain the horror:
Back when they had 1.4 amd/ecs mobo combo for $200, I was doing an upgrade for a small company in my town. They had a bunch of old PC's that needed upgrading. So I bought 7 combo's, and some other miscallaneous stuff from them, with the total coming to about $1450.
So, I placed an order, got the stuff in a few days later. Everything was packed fine, however one piece of software that I ordered was missing. No big deal.
Anyway, as I started upgrading the PC's, I came across one of the mobo's, and it appeared to be used. One of the clip's that holds the chip in place was broken off. I tried to use the motherboard anyway, as time was a constraint, but it didnt work. So, I called up the vendor, and after holding for about 45 minutes(no joke), I gave up and used the online RMA system. (Which meant sending an email)
I sent a very simple email, stating that I am missing the one piece of software, and that one out of the 7 boards was faulty. See the email thread in italics (start reading from the bottom, so you get all the replies, in order):
******
Sir,
I personally would not open or touch a board that was thought to be used, if you did this, might I ask why?
I don?t appreciate the attempt to scam us, we don?t sell used products ever, unlike some of our competition.

The entire socket was not damaged. Only one of the "mounts" in the center that holds down the heatsink.
I used the side mounts to hold the heatsink, that was not a problem.
The problem is with the motherboard POST'ing, turning on.

Sir. If the socket was damaged, how did you mount the heatsink? I can guarantee our products are good and leave here in good working order.

Adam ?
As for the mother board, here is what happens:
First of all, one of the plastic clips on the socket seems to be broken off, which leads me to believe the mobo might be used. Anyway, that is not my concern, as I can use the clips on the sides to hold the heatsink in place.
When I attach the cpu, heatsink, fan, ram and video card to the motherboard and try to power the PC on, nothing happens. No beeps, no POST, nothing. I am 100% sure that the motherboard is not touching the case in any places, so there is no short. I even went so far as to take the motherboard out of the case, place it on the foam packaging it came in, and then carefully seated the video card and tried to power it up, and nothing.
When I tried another motherboard in the same case, it worked fine.
If you have any other questions, or would like to speak on the phone, please feel free to email me or call me at (732) xxx-xxxx.
Thanks,
Akshat
So, this guy is trying to tell me that after spending all that money, I am trying to scam him for a board that costs $60. When I called, he claimed that I was trying to return a board that I probably bought elsewhere and used for a while. This really pissed me off.
Anyway, I spoke toa supervisor, and he gave me an RMA number (no apology), and told me to send the board back.
THat was in November. I have not heard from anyone at this company ever since. I have sent about 15 emails, and left 4 phone messages. When i finally got through to one of the CSR's, she claimed that the RMA person (they only have ONE rma person?!?!) was not in the office, but she said she would have him call me back.
It is now four months later, still no board, no response from anyone at the company.
STEER CLEER...
I ended up paying $110 for the board locally, because I had no choice, but if I can make sure that a few of you have read this and changed your mind about purchasing there, it will be worth it.
Sorry for the LONG a$$ post.
