Do most jobs care if you are like 4 credits short of graduation?

At the end of this summer I will need 4 hrs of credits to graduate. (They rejected my internship that I hadnt received credit for earlier in college). There is nothing available at school over the summer (well, Greek, Screenwriting, and hebrew), plus a lot of classes Ive already taken.

Im already working full time this summer at school as well as doing 12 credits of web courses that I can work on while I am at work (electives from the local community college). I would just take 4 more credits from them, but 8 of the last 20 need to come from the college.

So all of that just to say, I will be 4 credits short of graduating at the end of this summer. I can pick up 4hrs at night during the fall, but I would like to apply to, and get a real job starting in the fall.

Any experience/thoughts/ideas?

Where I work, they only hire people who have degrees. For awhile they were only hiring people with MS or PhDs. The last year or two I have been seeing new hires with with BS.

depends on the company and your boss. Most probably won't care if you take an evening class and the class doesn't mess with work.

Whatever you do, don't say you have the degree before you finish. When they find out you will be canned with extreme prejudice.

I think it's the difference between having a degree, and not having one. I mean you can't say you have a degree and that automatically goes against you.

Most companies have a Yes or No question. Do you have a degree. If you are 4 credits short, then you'd be answering No.

I got hired when I was a few months short of graduation of my BS. Just tell your potential employer about your situation and when you will have your degree for sure. Better yet, show them your transcript. If you have good grades and they like you, they won't care. Just don't lie and say you have a degree.

Human Resources will check out your resume. If it looks like you are lying.....

I was 4 credits short when I found a job and quit school. Later when I applied for a higher position within the company, it stipulated College Degree required. Needless to said, I didn't get the position. They really don't care if you're 1 credit short when the answer is Yes or No. I finally went back to school and finished school.
