I've been to italy, and I've seen their appreciation of womens beauty. Its quite a bit different. Its filthy in its own way, but its not nearly as offensive. There is quite a bit more respect.

Perhaps they act differently towards mexican women, or mexican or latina women like it better, but theyre dirtbags to the white girls, and they know it.

BD, sounds like you've really got a thing against that part of their culture ;) I hate regurgitating old, bad feelings, but when my fiancee took that trip to south Texas/Mexico and ended up making out with a dude down there...

Her uncle told me what happened, if you remember. And he kinda explained how things were down there to me. He said that honest to god, every single one of the married co-workers in his section, about 6 or 7 other males, all cheated on their wives, multiple times. Not mistress type stuff... just stuff like going out to drink with the guys, meeting a drink girl, banging her, and being done with it. And this type of mentality every weekend. He said he doesn't participate in those activities, but he has in fact cheated on his wife before. I would hate to live there (in the Brownsville / Pharr, TX area). When I visited two summers ago, Mexicans would do cat calls and say weird things in Spanish about my fiancee when she was standing right there.

Eh, its nothing something I really think about usually. Its just something obvious. I dont have any particular dislike or hatred, but the question was asked, so I responded as truthfully as I could.

I'm certainly not surprised to hear what you say though. Sounds about right to me.

Read the thread.

I have, but your opinions seem heavily biased. You claim Italy is different? Well what part of Italy, because I've been in Sicily, as well as the southern (Pompeii), central (Florence/Rome), and northern parts (Cinque Terre/Venice) and its a bit different in all those parts. In Sicily and the south, the men are VERY direct to women, particularly blonde american women. In Venice, the men were the same. In Rome and Florence, the guys seemed a little mellower. Does that mean there are only dirtbags in different parts of Italy. Nonsense.

This thread is cultural up until the point where people start trashing one cultures way of being. Then it becomes racial.

My opinions are biased, by what I've seen. I'm a italian/german white boy who looks hispanic, had as much money as the black kids growing up, lived across the street from the indian kids, and grew up and hung out with asian kids. Believe me, I've seen it all.

There is a big difference with being direct with a woman, and stopping what you are doing, honking your horn, and staring at a womans chest. The italians will go up and try to smooth talk a woman.

For all I know, in mexico, mexican woman and men all stare at each other all day long and have a great time. I'm just calling em how I see em around here.

Sorry that your virgin ears (or eyes) are too delicate to handle something that isnt candy coated.

Everyone knows generalizations arent perfect, but our brains create stereotypes for a reason, and its not because "society has programmed us" to do so.

I am asian american, and my best friend from college up to now is caucasian. He is not a greedy bastard. But I was known to be the 'jew boy' in college, meaning I was frugal; not being prejudice but just the nickname I was given by my caucasian housemates in Pittsburgh, PA. Anyways, I am good at math and enjoy it. I also like sciences. If I won the lottery, I would take up getting a masters or PhD. in some science related field.

I know exactly what you mean, and they absolutely do. They do so invasively, persistently, and overtly.

I'm sorry to say this has been my experience as well. Fortunetly, a "hand's on dialogue" works just as well as it does with any other ethnic group.

I would have thought someone with so much cultural diversity would have learned to value other cultures.
The experience you lack is that you have neither grown up in a mexican community, nor, by your statements, have interacted much with a mexican community. Seeing is far different than experiencing. I'm trying to give you insight based on my history and experience.

Dont think that my recognition that mexican guys stare at women doesnt mean I dont appreciate their culture. I love tacos, for one. :)

I can't say I've grown up in a mexican community, but there are more than enough mexicans in my community that I can easily generalize the way they act around here. And apparently, everyone agrees with me. I'm sure in mexico, this kind of behavior is perfectly acceptable, but this isnt mexico.

This isnt the cultural appreciation thread. This is the "Do Mexican guys stare at women blatantly?" thread. The answer is yes. Feel free to start any other racial thread, and I'll be more than happy to throw in my two cents.

The hairstyles are as well influenced by ease of care and comfort as they are by the styles carried over by native influences.

I'm mexican BTW

I'm Filipino and I wear my hair as a crew/spike cut where I use #2 guide on the clippers all around and then spike the top. I get my haircut at Supercuts by the way.

I'm not Mexican... but I too am guilty of staring at women blatantly, but then again, it could just be my lazy eye.

Mine too. And having a Mexican girlfriend doesn't help - some guys seem to think she wants to be stared at. Even when she's wearing jeans and a long sleeved T-shirt (with a very high neck line), Mexican men will slow down in their cars to get a look. Not just a quick glance, either. It's a rarity for us to walk down the street without her feeling uncomfortable because of this.

Well then, I guess we're all ignorant. Sorry, but I dont need to appreciate mexican culture in any way to notice that they stare at women. Its like noticing that they speak spanish. Becomes very obvious, very quickly. I'm sure no one in this thread has been brainwashed by the media to think that mexican guys stare at women. We all see it with our own eyes.

If anything, I've found that the people least informed about the stereotypes of a culture are the people that are a part of the culture itself. I have a hard time coming up with the white boy stereotypes, so I'd appreciate it if the non-whites could chime in and let us all know what you think of us. :p

I dont know why this always needs to be said or else everyone gets all up in arms, but of course there are exceptions to every rule. Hell, even NFS4 tips. :D

I know plenty of people of Mexican descent born in the States who don't have this "cultural habit." Living in Los Angeles, however, the vast majority of Hispanic males we encounter have come over relatively recently.

I wouldn't want to offend all of you mexican dudes on this forum (b/c i know there are so many of you),
but all the mexican dudes at my school are gay, however, they still stare at ALL the chicks.

noone is disputing the case of 'do they stare'. I've just told you in an earlier post 'why they stare'.
but when you take an action that they most clearly do and impart your own cultural influences to suggest that they are dirtbags for engaging in such a cultural activity, I think you're being hypocritical.
saying they stare is one thing. saying they are dirtbags for staring is just wrong.

Well then, in your culture, its appreciated, or tolerated.

In ours, its most definintely not appreciated, and is considered being a dirtbag.

what is 'ours'? italian or german? don't say american, because latinos and blacks are as much a part of this country as are germans, french or migrants from any other european nation.

agreed.

LMFAO. "Cultural thing."

Holy crap and you have someone that agrees.

Being horny is universal you geeks.

maybe you should get take a course in English and/or a Logic course you dumbfvck. try reading the post and get an understanding of what is being posted. the cultural thing that i am agreeing to is not that mexicans are the only ones who are horny, but that it may be a cultural thing for them to blatantly stare.

Alright, so I guess I have to qualify everything in terms of whats politcally correct.

Lets just generalize and say white people for now, but I think its safe to include asians, and I'm not positive NFS4's girl is black, but she certainly doesnt seem to like it either.

How about non-latino? Although I'm not sure that I'd even put money down on the fact that even mexican women appreciate it, but we're going to need some around here to speak on that first.

I didn't read the thread, but to address the topic... In San Antonio, there's this street near Trinity University, which must be the creepiest street in Texas for college chicks. If it's female, and it's walking down the street, Mexican guys will slow down or stop their cars to stare and whistle. And I've only seen it happen to such an extreme degree on that one street. The girls don't even have to be hot or anything. The dudes are just creepy.

It's really weird.

When I find her, he's staring directly at my girls boobs with a big smile on his face. God must have intervened at that point, and stopped me from doing something stupid, because as soon as he saw where she was looking, and saw me, he head off in another direction.
