If any parent is letting a mere 5 year old tell them what they are going to wear there is a parent who is a wimpy pushover.Originally posted by: Dari

Uh huh. Five year olds wouldn't even know what boxers were unless they saw someone else wearing them and were told what they are.
Now you know what all five year old know? Do you know what I knew when I was five?
Like I said, speak for yourself. Unless you're some pedaphile who likes to watch boys and knows their intricate details, I'd refrain from guessing what others think.
LOL!!! No experience with kids, huh???
Just cousins. From what I've seen, they're curious, independent, and always asking questions. No one has to introduce anything to them for them to accept it. If you have children, I don't know why this would come as a shock to you.
Uh huh. And they shop for their own clothes and make their own clothing decisions?
Dude, just stop. A five year old wears what is bought for him and his clothing decisions are based on emulation, not independent thought.
They don't shop. They ask (or tell) their parents what they want. It's the same reason why why you avoid the candy aisle when you go shopping. Now, if you have boys and you've bought them shorts, you know they sometimes forget to wear their underwear. Well, when you're young shorts are like overalls to you, you don't have to wear anything beneath it.
Maybe you run your house like the military, but some parents allow their children to make decisions for themselves at (gasp!) the tender age of five. Having your kids ask questions is OK too.
It's got nothing to do with running a "house like the military", it has to do with being a parent and not letting your kids run you.
