ps2 are not that picky on media. it's read some of the crappiest ones.

nah the old one plays burnt DVDs just fine, i beleive you hae to use DVD-Rs tho

I have a first year PS2 and it has a tough time with memorex DVD-R's, but reads all +R's fine.

I didnt say it couldn't 😛 What i said was you need to mod it before it can play burned dvds. The new slim ps2 doesnt have to be modded to play burned dvd's

Sony DVD players used to only read one media, I can't remember which though. I know our DVD player, which is a Toshiba, only reads +R media. I think that's why some of the first PS2s have difficulty though, because they didn't really have to deal with both medias as much back when it came out.

It does not have to be modded to play VIDEO dvd's whatsoever.

remember to burn at low speeds so your ps2 will read your backups
