Too bad the Matchbox cars aren't mint. If they were Lesney cars, I'd buy them at in a heartbeat.
But yeah... kids still play with toy cars. The good ones that were made in England (Matchbox and Corgi), France (Majorette) and Japan (Tomica) were built so bulletproof, I see kids in the neighborhood playing with cars that were passed down a couple generations. I saw a kid in a sandbox the other day with a Matchbox firetruck from the mid-70's. All Hot Wheels and the cars made today are all made in Asia (new Matchbox, new Corgi, new Majorette, etc.) and are so crappy they don't last a year before completely falling apart. They probably have lead paint to boot.
And it's not just boys that play with them. My daughter plays with them too. I have to admit that the Polly Pockey die-cast cars are pretty cool and every once in a while I bust her playing with my old Matchboxes in my office.

Fortunately, she doesn't crash them up like most boys. She just likes to pretend she's driving.
