The best marriage I know of (better than my own parents) is between a Catholic and a Jew. Of course, the Jew doesn't really care about his religion too much, nor does the Catholic, so I guess if it's not fanatical (like mentioned) it can work.
 
My wife was a hindu and she converted to Christianity when we married, my very evangelical-baptist family would never have approved otherwise.
