do indian folks not engage in sports and athletics?

And what, Indians don't have any such drive? That's just excuses and doesn't address all the other Asian countries out there.

Jews aren't exactly known for their athletic prowess. Yet a single Jewish woman has as many Olympic medals as India has won in the last 30+ years! That's pretty sad man.

Elaine Dickinson: How about this leaflet, "Famous Jewish Sports Legends?"

From wiki:

"India is remarkable among nations for having won very few Olympic medals, despite a population exceeding one billion, around half of them under the age of 25. Numerous explanations have been offered for the dearth, including poverty, malnutrition, widespread vegetarianism, neglected infrastructure, the lack of sponsorship, the theft of money and equipment, political corruption, institutional disorganisation, social immobility, the predominance of cricket, and other cultural factors.[8][9][10][11]"

What sports are these?

Maybe if awkward dancing was an Olympic sport Bollywood stars could compete, but they'd probably still lose to white folks.

Bollywood dance scenes are awesome both from the technical level of the dancing and the choreography. They outdo a white girl "superstar" like Britney Spears, for instance, by at least one order of magnitude.

lol at all the "that's not a sport" posts, I'd like to see any of you play cricket or badminton at any competitive level.

India also won 6 straight olympic golds in field hockey many many years ago. doesn't count for much these days. half of those wins were under british rule

And i'd like to see you play pool or darts at any competitive level. Still doesn't make them sports.

And the founder of bollywood was Michael Jackson and some damn tree. What's up with that tree anyway? Why is the girl dancing around it in every bollywood video?

Op Whaaaaat, Indians love them some Cricket. But now that you do mention it you don't see them too often playing other sports.

because Education isn't a sport, why are most good doctors asian or indian?

Because the smart white people work on Wall Street and steal... I mean make a lot more money than doctors.

Why spend 10 years preparing to be something other than a bed pan changer just to make lower upper class money when I can get a business degree and a cutthroat attitude and make triple that?

Make a movie I want to see, a fashion I want to wear, a cell phone I want to buy and a beer I want to drink and then we can talk.

Ahhh the young generation attitude of how the planet revolves around the US. Sadly it's what has led to our downward spiral in the world.

You really think doctors are just bed pan changers? How stupid are you?

Meh give me soft power over economic power or military power every day. That is the reality of the 21st century.

The Chinese have it figured out. America is a superpower not because of our literal might, but because even our enemies (aka terrorists) wear blue jeans.

When we have infected a nation with our culture it is hard for them to go against our interests, and it artificially props up America. Just like all those Indian developers that got outsourced American jobs but spend a portion of their income on iPhones/Androids and cokes.

a fat guy could be competitive at pool or darts -> not sports

a fat guy could not be competitive at badminton or cricket -> sports

Aren't India currently getting owned in cricket by New Zealand? A tiny country that doesn't even take the sport seriously. So basically a country of one billion getting owned in their national sport by a few random kiwi dudes that just wanted to stand in a field.

Not a good indictment on their sporting prowess.

🙄

Two sports New Zealand takes seriously, Rugby and Cricket, and they're good at both.

Meanwhile, the USA sucks at Rugby and Cricket. 😛
