Do I upgrade my sound card?

I'm about to upgrade my system, and I was wondering if I should even bother upgrading my regular Audigy 2 (non-ZS). Is there really any noticable difference? I have 500W 5.1 Logitech Z-680 speakers. Thanks.

those are a good set of speakers, i have them too
yes you do hear the difference

the question is, IS IT WORTH IT ?
for me it was, so i got the X-FI, but most people that are NOT audiophile they wont notice the difference
but even if you are not a music fan, in games you WILL noticed a BIG difference :D

AllGamer: your onboard sound is easily enough for gaming...

8-channel high definition sound would sate most gamers' thirst for accuracy and vibrancy and most audiophiles' need for clarity.

To be honest I don't hold much faith in sound cards now unless you're doing professional mixing, and the marketing spiel of Creative and their ilk just irritates and annoys me like the nVidia "the way it's meant to be played" nonsense.

The audigy 2 will be fine, I just built a C2D system and used my audigy 2 from my old PC.
