Do I really need to get a new motherboard if...

...the little fan on my motherboard (MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 Ultra ATX AMD Motherboard) isn't working? So far... everything else seems to be running fine.

Will I be in trouble in the near future if I don't replace it?

I would definitley replace it.
They sell passive heatsinks that would get rid of the fan all together.

actually... the fan over the heatsink is working fine... i mean the other little fan (if you know what i'm talking about)... which is literally BUILT INTO the mobo.

That little fan is for cooling the chipset. Underneath is likely a crappy little heatsink.

You can just get a passive heatsink like sugested above, or call and get a free replacement.
