Been looking at a Dell 2001fp and a Dell 1901fp, the 2001 seems to go on sale all the time while the 1901 never does anymore...

Is it worth the extra $200-$300 for an inch of desktop real estate?

1. You need food, clothing, and shelter.

2. Odds are if you have the extra money and choose not to drop it, you will regret it reguardless if it is worth it or not.

EDIT: BTW, every computer I own is using a 21" Trinitron CRT, my desktop uses two and I'm using another one as a TV via a NextVision N6. I live within 10 minutes of a surplus electronics store and an Air Force base. :)

He's right.

er...he's wrong. Last i recall, 2001 has 1600x1200 max resolution. so wouldn't that make it a difference of 320? not 220...

Whatever. I'm not a math major.

Bad Math here. The screen real estate of the 20" LCD is 1600x1200 = 1920000 square pixels
The screen real estate of the 19" LCD is 1280x1024 = 1310720 square pixels
1920000 - 1310720 = 609280 square pixels difference
320x176 = 56320 square pixels
609280 =/ 56320

I think you meant it's an extra 320 horizontal lines and 176 extra vertical lines.
