Do I need to install the driver to use the hpt controller as individual IDE?

Do I need to install the driver to use the highpoint controller as individual IDE channels? I don't want to use a RAID setup just want to have my two hdd on different channels one is a 60gb and the other is a 20gb. the 60gb is the OS, the 20gb for storage

With your mobo and winXP, if you install the driver you will lose performance. Use the default windows driver, your performance will go up a bit, trust me, been there done that
