Well, im going to assemble a new pc,

and my hard disk is currently in 2 partitions of 60gb each.

One partition I use for storage, and the other I use for installations , windows etc...

is it possible that I format only the partition which I use for windows when I put it with the new pc parts ?

thank you

Yeah, as long as you aren't using a slipstream disc. Just select the partition from the menu at the installation start screen.

Caption Howdy, what does using a slipstream OS install CD have to with being able to just format the system/boot partition during a reinstall?

Hi, If the second partition is only storage, no programs, then you do not have to format it. If it had programs you would probably have to re-install them. Luck, Jim

If you're going to put files on both partitions they will need to be formated. For just the install though, just format the primary partition. After windows is up and running you can go and format the other partition.
