Do I need to do anything to enable dual channel ram?

Just got a second 512MB stick of DDR400 ram. I know my motherboard supportd dual channel memory, but I'm not sure if I have to enable it somehow. Is there any way to see if it's enabled?

Look in your motherboard manual. On my board it wanted the two sticks in dimm2 and dimm3 no idea what it is on your board. Maybe some specs on your system would be helpful...

Abit IG7 board. Looking at the manual right now.

Other than placing the sticks in the right slots, nothing. It should run in dual channel automatically.

Got it. Had to put the second stick in DIMM 3.
