Do I need to connect the EZ Plug if I'm not using SLI?

Everytime I boot the computer up, it says:

WARNING: EZ PLUG IS NOT CONNECTED. SLI WILL NOT FUNCTION PROPERLY.

If i'm not using SLI, I don't need to connect the EZ PLUG do I?

As far as I know the EZ plug is for ppl who dont have 4 pin square plug with their PSU...You do have that one plugged to the board right???

Maybe it needs both with SLI...In that case it may be a simple bios warning just so you know...I guess it also doesn't hurt to plug it in if you have an available 4pin molex....

I thought it would hurt it.

Nope....If the board needs the power it will use it...otherwise it will just be formality.....

What does the mobo manual say about using this plug???

The manual is unclear, however it immediately refers you to chapter 6 (the SLI chapter) when it mentions the EZ-Plug earlier in the manual (chapter 2 I think). Make sure you have the SLI selector card plugged in such that the "Single Video Card" is in the slot (hence the "Single" side is pointing toward the blue PCI-E slot, NOT the black one).

And yeah definitely plug in the 4 pin square (2x2 pin) ATX 12V cable (located at the left edge of the board).

I thought you turned it 180° for SLI. and another 180° for regular PCIe.

I'm not 100% sure though. What does your manual say?

Referring to the SLI selector card, yes, you just unlatch it and turn it 180 degrees, then stick it back in, when going from regular (single) to SLI (dual), or vice versa.

Note that tons of people (including myself) have reported their boards coming with the Dual (SLI) connector plugged in, even though the manual says that the Single (normal, non-SLI) should be in by default.
