Ok i have an Audigy 2 sound card, and i recently reformatted my comp.
When windows starts up it detects something is in the pci slot when i look in device manager and it also says there is a multimedia audio controller, these both have the !'s next to them so they dont work.

When i dl the audigy 2 drivers and try to install them it says i dont have an audigy 2....

Iv tried everything under the sun, reformatted again, disableing onboard audio, changing pci slots, u name it...

I heard that in order to install a soundblaster card you need to have the orginal disk, unfortunately i bought it OEM over 6 months ago and i lost it.... =/
I dont know if thats true

I dont know if thats the prob or if my card just happened to die at the same time i reformatted, but if i havta get new card then im willing...

Im a gamer and i listen to mp3's, i was thinking about getting the audigy 2 zs what would you suggest if you think my card is busted???

ty in advance =)

Yes, according to what I see from the Creative Labs website, you are going to need the originial CD to do the initial install of the drivers. I thought, I remembered this, since I have several Creative Labs sound cards in my machines. Maybe you can call them & see if they will send you a replacement for your "DAMAGED" CD. I have found them to be pretty cooperative when I have called them in the past.

Good luck.

I have an Audigy 2 ZS. Do you think the disc would work for your card? I would burn you a disc at no charge.
