Im building my own comp. Not overclocking. This case comes with a built in fan but is it enough? Link to case

CPU: 8400 Wolfdale
Mobo: Gigabyte P35 DS3L
Gfx: asus 8800 GT

 
After you've put it together, monitor your temps and report them here and we could see what may be improved or left alone for you in our opinions.

Note to Rodknock if you read: Maybe you can chime in here and tell him how to properly monitor temps seeing as you're the expert and all :roll:
 
okay. parts are coming in a week or so. im a n00b so how do i monitor the heat? since i dont know who rodknock is or his reputation im unsure how to interpret that smiley, lol.
 
your motherboards bios can monitor certain temps like CPU, northbridge, and southbridge. You can also use programs like coretemp and realtemp to get an idea of what your CPU temps are under-load in windows. And of course, you can use nivida software to monitor your video cards temps.

Check the sticky in the CPU and overclocking forums to learn more about putting a load on your computer to test stability.
 
Also, if you're not planning on overclocking, it seems like the cooling you have would be sufficient enough for normal operation... it doesn't hurt to take readings of course and let us know what you find 🙂

I would opt for a case with more cooling potential. IMO the Antec cases are really restricted when it comes to cooling.
 
You said fan, right? As in one? Your going to need more. I have an E8400 and an 8800GTX. I've got pretty good airflow without making it a 747, and it still runs a bit warm for my taste.
 
Guys, he said he was not going to overclock anything.... I think what he's getting will be perfectly sufficient. Yes the cpu and the video card may run a little on the warm side, but they can handle it just fine... they're made to handle it fine.
 
You'll be fine. Don't mind those who think that every computer is a space heater.
Only thing is to pay attention to the video card especially if it's a reference single-slot cooler design.
