Do i need a new router?

So... I got my Samsung BD-P 3600 hooked up, and tried streaming Netflix last night. Had no problems until my wife and I both had our phones connected to the WiFi. Router dropped the connection 3 times before we figured it out.

It's a Netgear g router, and probably about 5 years old.

Any ideas?

google the router model and see what people think about it. early netgear wifi routers were junk imo. buggy firmware. pick something solid for your needs.

you wold connect the samsung using ethernet of course - then try to find out the chipset for the phones and find a good router match. my old WRT600N seems to handle sustained traffic and the iphones and wifi IP cameras pretty well at short range.

There is so ""many"" technical details in your OP that is very easy easy to get lost in providing you with a real answer. 🙄
