Ive sporting this one machine for 3 years now, and i want to get a new machine but i dont know if it is necessary im all about power.

I have
P4 2.66 ghz
2 GB PC 2700 RAM
8x NEC DVD RW DL
16x DVD-ROM
200 GB + 200 GB external
Nvidia GForce Ti 4200 8x agp 128mb
5.1 AC 97 Sound Card

What you guys think?

Maybe i should just upgrade in the graphic card.

whats your budget?

if you got quite a bit of money i suggest this
opteron 165 if ur into ocing or x2 3800 if ur not
evga 7800GT
Msi Neo 4 plat or Dfi UT ultra D
1 gig ocz rev 2 if u dont wana spend a fortune on ram .
if you have money to throw get Mushkin Redline pc4000 2 gig ddr
ocz modstream or powerstream 450 -500 watt is enough for that system unless u plan on going SLI

Case : Antec P180

srry that i cant give u price range i am at work and on coffee break right now
but it should come to 1000-1200

my bad i didnt check the other posts :/
lil games u dont need a 7800GT then just a get a x800GTO or 6800GS
even a 6600GT will do if u do minor gaming and not hardcore settings.

A cheap solution would be to overclock the processor to 3.2ghz or so and buy something like a 6800GS AGP.

Otherwise upgrade to dual core A64. Keep the ram. Performance drop from 333mhz vs. 400mhz shouldnt be more than 10% on A64. 7800GT EVGA is now $250 on Newegg with MIR. If you do not intend to overclock, get X2 3800+ over Opteron 165 (or vice versa).

your looking at about $200 range for a decent agp video card and maybe $50 for a HSF so you wana overclock like RussianSensation said.
