Do I need a copy of half-life to play counterstrike?

su.nuclearfallout.net

great server with admins on a lot of the time. decent skill level wise, and no cheaters because of the admins. and if you think there are cheaters, you probably just aren't good enough yourself

Ha, I used to play at gz.nuclearfallout.net for a while. My buddy and I were 1-2 in the ranks on gz and apoc for a while. Then came the statwhores and it got kinda lame. That's the main reason I don't play there anymore. It turned into an 8v8 awp fest with people just camping in corners for stats. True about there rarely being hackers though, although there definitely were some.

The server in my sig

Text was close enough, changes in bold 😉

I'm an admin there too 😀

You just need a valid CD key.

Pick up a cheap copy of HL, it can't be expensive for an old edition. I paid $29 about 5 years ago, so, yeah.

Counterstrike is still by far the most popular game. Right now at gamespy.com 70K are playing CS, next in line is Battlefield 1942 at 11K and Call of Duty at 10K. I hardly play in public servers anymore, it's more fun once you join a team & play in league play like CAL. Great teamwork & good strat calling.

You can download Steam + CS and not need Half-Life to be installed, but you do need a Half-Life key to play CS.

I have Halflife: BLUESHIFT and the cd key for it.
Can I use this to download steam + CS and play for free?
