Do I need a 24 pin converter

I just installed my new motherboard and realized it needs a 24 pin connector from the PSU. The manual says the 20 pin can work but I have a ATI X800 XL PCI-E that i'm not sure if it will get enough power. Any suggestions? I've read the sticky at the top and it says I don't "need" a 24 pin connector. Here's my setup

Enermax 460 watt PSU
Abit AN8 ULTRA
AMD 64 3200+
ATI x800 XL
2 optical
2 HDD
5 case fans
Sound Blaster sound card

The x800 XL doesn't have have power connector on the card. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks.

I would suggest it. They only cost ~$3 anyway, and it'll give you more stability.

where can I get one? I've been looking all over and i've only found the on in the sticky at the top but that says its a 2x 4 Pin Power heads into a single 6 Pin Power head but I only need a 4 Pin power head correct? Does CompUSA have any?

I have an ASUS A8N-E motherboard with a 20 pin power supply but the motherboard has a 24 pin connector. I just plugged the 20 pin power supply into the 24 pin motherboard connector and have had no problems with electrical power stability, the motherboard, or any other hardware components. I also have a 45% overclock with my AMD64 3000+ Venice cpu overclocked from 1800MHz to 2610MHz. My graphics card is a GeForce 6200. Will this work for you? I cannot say. But so far it is working for me for just over three months.

Thanks, so far its working but all i've done so far has been install windows. I can pick one up from my local store for $6 so i'll make a trip out there tomorrow.
