Do I lose my TV-out function if I use Nvidia XP drivers?

Hey guys, I have a Leadtek GF2 Pro with TV-out installed in my machine. I plan on hooking it up to my big screen for some Christmas gaming. So I need to know if I will lose that function if I install the latest XP drivers from Nvidia. Or do they just replace certain files that wouldn't affect that? Anyone have any helpful info on this for me? Oh, this is a Windows XP machine if that matters.

There's shouldn't be any difference. At least I didn't see any when I switched from Leadtek drivers to 23.11 detonators on my GF2Ti.

Generic nVidia drivers will disable video-in (and probably out, too) as well as the 3D glasses on ASUS cards.

That hasn't been my experience. I used my ASUS 7100 with the NVIDIA drivers for TV out w/o problems.
You may experience some black bars though (with any driver). I got black bars with win2k, but win-me
was OK. Check out www.tvtool.com for a solution.

There shouldnt be a problem, as long as you have the S-video cable connected to your TV.

I thought there was a problem at first when i changed the drivers to the newer ones from Nvidia. I didnt have the option to switch from my monitor to TV. THen i figured might as well hook up the S-video cable to my TV and, voila! After that the option is there.

Hope that helps.

Have a good CHristmas to all!

No. It was a couple of months since I hooked up the PC to the TV.
At the time tvtool did not support the Chrontel 7007 I have on my Asus card,
so I had to use the tvcc tool instead (also available at tvtool.com, download section),
which worked.
From the web-page though, it seems that tvtool supports at least some chrontel
chips now.

Hey guys, thanks for all the help. I'm going to give it a try. Looks like everything should work out OK. All I need now is for these dam games to start working under XP properly. :(
