Do I have to use the P4 connector on the mobo??

My brother just bought a Shuttle AN35-N Ultra NF2 board. He brought it over with his old PC for me to swap into his case. The ATX PSU he has in his case is an older one that doesn't have a P4 connector. The Shuttle Mobo has a P4 Connector. Di I HAVE to have the P4 connector hooked up?? The manual doesn't specificly say it's OK, but it doesn't say you can either.....

In otherwords do I need to buy him a new PSU.

It's not necessary for a non-Pentium 4 system but a lot of board manufacturers are doing it for Athlon boards as well supposedly to increase stability.

Just found this in the back of the manual in the "Other Connectors" Section

It is essential to have these two power supply connections plugged in or your system won't boot.

Well off to get a power supply.
