do I have a cold sore?

Disclaimer: No, I did not have any sexual intercourse or anything weird of that nature, please do not bring that up in this thread 🙂

I think I have a cold sore, or at least I think that's what it is.. the ends/edge of my mouth/lips feels a bit weird unlike normal days. There isn't a rash or anything, but if I eat something or do anything that involves opening my mouth (no, dont reply with that joke) it feels sour.. ugh.

Do you think I have a cold sore? Is my description severely lacking?

😕

Based on your cryptic symptom description, no, it's not a cold sore.

I really don't get what you're talking about, but I've actually torn one side of where your lips would meet, side of the mouth, whatever you want to call it. If you're eating pizza from a good local place that serves decently sized slices, fold them in half before you try eating them 😛 I couldn't eat any sandwiches or anything that had to be bitten for a week, only rice and stuff.

If you have any kind of sore, it will probably taste sour. Usually cold sores crust over don't they? I've only seen the stock pictures of them on TV and in books.

I'd just put some neosporin on it and give it a few days. It could just be a canker or a split in your skin from chapped lips or something...it can happen in the summer too.

Feels sour? Usually you get a tingly feeling where the cold sore is going to show up then you might get a couple/few small bumps with a clear fluid inside.

That = cold sore

If that's not what you have then....shrug.

Yes, I believe that's it.

One side or both sides?

If its both sides, you probably have just dry/chapped lips and the corners of your mouth are susceptible to that.

if its localized to just one part of your mouth, then it could be a cold sore, but typically you will see something rather quickly after feeling "weird".

Go get some stuff from the pharamcy for chapped lips/cold sores (which are not medicinal, they are just for soothing and moisturizing the skin) and some abrevia (which is a medicine) and you should be fine.
