Do hairline scratches impact screen quality?

I detected some hairline scratches on my phone and there are like five I believe.

However would having a lot of hairlines scratches be noticeable later even if the phone is turned on?

I think the bigger issue is that they make it easier for the the screen to break when the phone is dropped.

I found that my glass screen protector saved my ass when I dropped it. There's a hairline crack now on the screen protector, but not significant enough for me to replace it

If they are just hairline scratches then they shouldn't have that big of an impact. However if they are more than "Hairline" then you can notice more quality degradation.
