I just told a girl I drove back from the airport today, and she asked how far it was to which I responded about 10 miles. She then asks, how far is that "in terms of time"? 😕

The other week then someone asked me how far Petco was from our area and I said "about one and a half miles" to which she replies "Is that walking or driving?"

"One and a half miles".
"Yeah is that walking or driving?"

😕 brain explodes

Not to approach with a hasteful even misanthropic manner but were you dropped in your childhood?

Yes, but I enjoy girls that need a man to tell them what to do and think so much more than a stuck-up girl. Ditsy is best.
that is so stupid, it degrades not only her but yourself as well.
What? Its automatically stupid just because you dont like it?
You wouldnt happen to be a republican would you? Hmmm? Maybe a christian too, perhaps?
Troll much?

Is that when you asked her how she felt about 4 inches?

I wanted to ask that, too. 😀

A better question would be; "Does my friend have no perception of distance?" Gender has no relevence to it, you might as well be asking something stupid like "Do Coke drinkers have no perception of distance compared to Pepsi drinkers?"

My wife has no perception of time or sense of direction. I can't tell her to go North on some road. I have to tell her, go towards the Wal-mart or something like that.

No and they lack (all) geographical/navigational skills as well...

Nah, it's men that can't navigate and/or read a map. Women suck as drivers, however.

QFT!! Every damaging accident ive been in and 95% of all close calls have been with women who are too stupid to be driving.

See? The thing is ya just gotta play along...

"10 miles will take hours if we just drive but will only feel like minutes if we make out while driving there"
"One and a half mile walking but I can drive you there in what will feel like 1/4 mi after we make out"

There ya go. Life is short, don't sweat the small stuff and don't try to understand women.

My sense of time, distance, space, displacement, etc. is very good. It's really not hard to determine how far one has traveled given the standard distance between pavement expansion joints, common known vehicle wheelbases, and highway speeds.

Many landmarks in familiar and unfamiliar places often give clues as to distance traveled. In warmer climates many insects emit noises that change with the surrounding temperature.

When the sun is not obscured by the clouds the length and angle of the shadows gives a perfect bearing of direction. All the clues are there. It's all around you. Too bad too many are busy yapping on cell phones, looking for addresses, putting on a face, have unkempt and often out of control offspring strapped in behind them.

All these distractions and unnecessary dependencies dull the mind.

Exactly. I found my way around London for 3 weeks, with nothing but a tube map. Mostly I use the sun for guidance.

My mom tried to tell me the other day that only guys use cardinal directions. It's not just guys who spread these ideas.

This is a direct result of men!

They see something that's 4 inches long, and we tell them that it's 12 inches. It destroys their abilities to estimate small measurements. Multiply the error by 5240, and they won't be able to tell the difference between 100 yards and 12 miles.

10 miles from back home takes 10 minutes to drive. Here in Seattle it can take an hour. Maybe she wanted to know how long it would take to get there?

I have no depth perception (don't throw a ball at me) but I'm dead on accurate when it comes to figuring distances/time to get there.
