Do fans get noisy when they get dirty?

I have a fan inside my midi case that blows air to the mobo and cards. It has gotten noisy lately and i wander if it is because the dust it collects. If i clean it up, will the noise stop? Thanks...
 
The best way to find out is to pull it out and clean it up. While you have it out peel the sticker on the hub up and put a drop of light weight oil on the bearing. Reseal the sticker and you're good to go.
 
Well, I'm not sure, however its pretty obvious that the dust wont help now isnt it...

Clean it up. If theres no noise improvement then at least you know you have clean fan(s)... 😉
