I'm sure I had one of these back in the late 80's.....then got rid of it for some reason...oh yeah, they went out of "fashion"

she's kinda fashion conscious, me i don't give a crap, i just go with what's convenient and comfortable.

If I was married I guess I wouldn't give a damn about looking like a dork either.

what about a pair of cargo pants or something. or a backpack. or, just stop carrying around so much stuff. My pants provide more than enough room for a cell phone and wallet, and pocket knife.. all i ever need.

Why don't you get a messenger bag or a backpack? I'm a "computer guy" too and I have a messenger bag that I carry my cds, screwdrivers, cables, files, pda, keys, wallet, etc in. The only thing in my pocket at all times is my cellphone.

They only look strange if you're a straight male, otherwise I'd say you're in the clear.

i keep most of that stuff in the trunk of my car. i have a full size toolbox, 100 ft of cat 5 cable, etc in the trunk.

i need my pda, my cell, my leatherman, my credit cards and wallet, my money etc with me at all times.

Since you obviously don't care about how you look; just buy a purse. Its roomier.

Seriously, imho, fanny-paks spark an image of trailer-park-trash and/or super-annoying-soccer-mom-tourists for me. I'f I'm gonna be super-touristy then I use my photography vest (which means I'll have my camera and look like a pro and can get away with it), or the cargo pockets on my pants/shorts. Otherwise I'll bring a backpack or perhaps one of those shoulder/chest-sling things people were mentioning.

Your fanny pack looks great with your mullet haircut and your nylon sweatpants when you're taking a break from your breakdancing practice.

My advice is to ditch it as fast as you can. As werk suggested, get a backpack or a messenger bag (I say backpack). Those will be more than suffice to hold what you need compared to now. It doesn't matter whether you're married or not, you still have an image to keep. That image is not to look ghey.

They look ridiculously stupid.

Maybe you made this poll hoping for vindication. You didn't get it.

This thread needs to revived until he can admit that he read and understood the results of the poll and promises never to wear one of those things again. Yikes.

LOL credit to Grifter from another forum for burning this into my head on the subject of fanny packs
"are you ill? does it hold your medication?"
