Go ahead and call and ask about the guy ontop the tanker that got 3rd degree burns and entire gas station burned down.. see what they say..

There may have been a fire, but it wasn't caused by a cell phone igniting diesel. You could have had a lit flame thrower above the tanker and it wouldn't have lit the fumes, making it "blow up" if it was carrying diesel. The flash point of diesel is too high.

And, if there was a gas station that burned down, caused by a cell phone, it'd be reported all over the country. There isn't any reference to it at all. The only explanation to your story is that the gas station attendant is full of shit. Probably been smelling to many gas fumes.

Every time i get gas, there's at least 3 or 4 people talking on their phones while filling up...

none of these gas stations have ever exploded.

According to Snopes there's never been a single documented case of a cell phone gas station fire.

Diesel fuel flash points vary between 52 °C and 96 °C (126 °F to 204 °F) is it just me or is a flame thrower a little bit hotter than the cement on a hot day? (here the cement is 130F on hot days)

You do realise that flash point is not the point at which something explodes, but rather is the point at which it is possible for the substance to vaporize and form an ignitable mixture, right? It's not the point at which any spark at all will set it off. Also, just any old spark won't do; you need a significantly powerful and hot spark to ignite diesel vapors. A cell phone just isn't going to create a spark that's hot enough to light off diesel vapors.

Of course since you've moved to attacking obvious hyperbole rather that addressing the substantive portion of the post, I'm guessing that you're out of actual data at this point.

I guess It could have been regular gas the guy was filling the tanker with and it could have started from a short in the phone or friction or spark of him hitting the phone against a earring? All i know is the Fire started and it was when he answered teh phone ontop of a 18 wheeler tanker getting filled (the main huge tanker part) at the station. I have pictures somewhere of the damage it did. Was insane the concrete melted road was all melted they had to dig it all out and replace everything.

i agree iv had guy i know blow up a tanker of diesal by answering his cellphone (he was on top of it filling it up..) i think mythbusters should do more than 2 tests any scientist knows 2 tests is not enough control

A spark from the phone hitting an earring? Really? That's the theory you're going with now?

Much more likely that the filler hose wasn't grounded properly and the phone bit is entirely coincidental.

Mythbusters as a realistic science is as credible as Man v. Wild for survival guide.

It's a TV show aimed to entertain you, fitting for half hour.

Could not have said it better myself!
