I will be getting a Duron 700, KT7-RAID, and GW fop 32 tomorow and I wanted to get your opinions on if the chip should be burned in before connecting the bridges and overclocking it. If it should be what programs or tests and how long? Thanks.

I ran mine for about 4 days at 700. This included my 8 1/2 hour 3DMark stress test. Then I overclocked.

Burn in is a good idea, because it allows you to make sure that your system is stable at its rated speed.

If you overclock immediately, if your system is unstable you can't be sure whether there is a genuine fault, or whether it is simply due to overclocking.

Burning in has no other confirmed benefits - in particular there is no convincing evidence that it allows you to run your CPU faster than if you omit to do so.

No matter, windows is eventually going to crash. Just run the test for 6-12 hours. If nothing has gone wrong. You're good.
