You feel the need to drink and urinate more. Tiredness or fatigue can also be signs.

Born with? I'm not so sure about that..my sister developed type 1 diabetes when she was 14. It wasn't completely sudden (she had some of the symptoms for a few months, we just never suspected diabetes), then one day she just got really sick.
