Do colon cleansers work?

You know, health stores have them. They're supposed to clean all the stuff that has accumulated in your intestines after years of eating...and it's supposed to make you feel fresh and rejuvenated. Can anyone confirm or deny this?

<< Johnny Knoxville got probed and got his colon cleansed the hard way.

It was nasty.

All the while he was wearing a Santa suit 🙂

The "accumulated red meat in the colon" claim is one of the biggest medical crocks in history.

Just eat fiber It does the same thing.

Drink lots of fresh clean water.

A bowl of oatmeal or whole wheat toast in the morning will do the trick.

Yes, mine is spanking clean!

😉 😛

Just be sure to get plenty of fiber and drink a lot of water and your colon should be fine.

LOL That will work to.

Make sure you do it outside in the grass. It could be very messy

In all seriousness, a coworker recently had to get "probed" and have some polyps removed, so the doctor gave him something that would clean him out. He said basically, boy, did it ever. He said he could only drink water, and what was coming out was as clean as what he drank.
Yuck, I said. But there are cleansers that work......whether they're necessary health-wise, is another topic.

My father in law just had the same thing. The doc gave him a heavy laxative.

Its something you would not want to use regularly. Its forces you to $hit all day.

So there is nothing there to get in the probes way.

I remember one day I took a nice big dump, and when I was finished, I felt really good...I was hoping I could get that feeling every day. 🙂

Why don't you stick a garden hose up your a$$ and find out? Report back your findings because I am sure a lot of us here would like to know if we should do a butt flush.

Sorry, I actually didn't read Lethal Wolfe's post..........I guess sick minds think alike!

I've had to take that stuff before, yeah squeaky clean is the word for what it makes you. Of course you cant wander more than about 20 feet from a toilet after taking it.

I remember Matt Damon said he got probed on Jay Leno's in a health spa place. Is it a trend now?

It depends on what your health food store is trying to push on you (or into you! 🙂)

Usually at work we'll use Go-Lytely (hehe) or Magnesium Citrate to clean out the bowels before a scope or an operation. Sometimes we use an antibiotic called Neomycin, but I doubt the health food store would be selling that...

There's no real good reason why you need to "clean out your bowels" on a regular basis. Peristalsis takes care of that all by itself!
