Do beige drives look dorky in aluminum cases?

I've been contemplating getting a Lian-Li for my next case, but can't help thinking this? Is it really that bad or am I just over-reacting? I don't want black faceplates or components, I don't want to risk making them look cheesy by spray-painting the faceplates (would it make them look cheesy?). I know those stick-on aluminum labels are available now, those look cheese? Oh somebody help me!

beige + silver = assy.

A lianli case with spraypainted coveres looks descent.

Iv never seen the stickers you mentioned 🙁

This is why I just painted my case instead of getting an aluminum one: I can paint my face plates the same color, and it will look the same!

I think that just paining your face plates will look fine though.

dude YES!

i have a lian-li and i have the aluminum lian-li face plates for my pioneer dvd and my floppy and it looks sweet. *tip* spray paint the beige plastic face plates and THEN put the aluminum face plates on. a little bit of the background can be seen around the edges of the face plates.

I have a Lian 68 with beige drives and it is fine. Would be nice to have them match but not something to lose sleep over. IMHO 🙂

Bah! These things were a waste of money! They're super thing and don't look like my case metal at all! Well, I don't have a Lian Li, I have a Skyhawk 4610

They're just so cheap. I ended up going to my Self-cut blank drive bezels and only using the CD-tray bezel from the Lian Li and the floppy one. These are going once I get Skyhawk to sell me some of their blank drive bezels. I was going to buy some Lian Li blank drive bezels, but if this is the color Lian Li cases are, they won't match mine at all. Here's a bad picture from a webcam.

Drives

MPC also sells them.

EDIT: I also got a silver paint pen to do the buttons. Notice how their "universal" floppy cover has a biggo floppy button hole.

I'll probably get the aluminum floppy cover. Here's a picture of my Lian-Li PC60 with painted bezels. Neither of my drives match the ones available, but the floppy might. Notice how I didn't get the silver paint to match just right. It looks okay, but... not really.

Well, they seem to match the moulding around the powerbutton ok 🙂

I used - Holts Chrome Aluminium- spray from a car accessory shop for the FDD and I couldn`t imagine a better match, Holts is a UK company so don`t know if it`s available anywhere else..

I`d like to hear more about the "Stealth" mod (using the blankoffs to make hidden fronts) as I don`t mind spraying the CDROM but I`m not spraying the CDRW as these are the kind of things that get upgraded and it`ll look stupid in anything other than a Lian-Li if I do..

I have a silver Chieftec case (Antec 1030 clone). It did look a little dorky with beige drives in it. I switched to black drives and couldn't be happier with the way it looks.

Well, I am pretty anal I have to admit, but dorky too? Oh welll? I don't think it's too dorky? Just want things too look right, ergonomic and all? anal?
