Do bananas really explode like this?

Like already mentioned, looks like they shoved some fire crackers at the end. When it starts burning it looks like it's a fuse. At first I figured maybe it's possible as it builds up pressure inside the peel, so I wanted to try it at home in the sink.

The consistent burning of the fuse suggests a waterproof "safety" fuse not a paper fuse that's common on typical paper firecrackers.

Hopefully he was wearing earplugs. :Q
